BroadSoft Inc, a global leader in offering Unified Communications software as a service (UCaaS), announced on Tuesday they have acquired Intellinote, the Virginia-based enterprise messaging-based team communication and collaboration software application designed for the fast paced millennial workforce.
While both providers supply similar functions, Intellinote to the table a strong background in UC and collaboration to expand on BroadSoft’s established platform. With team collaboration capabilities including messaging, project, content and task management, and over 50 application integrations – this acquisition of Intellinote should further BroadSoft’s push for their new Project Tempo.
BroadSoft’s Project Tempo is an open communications framework that enables team collaboration and productivity by integrating popular enterprise cloud applications with contextual intelligence and real-time unified communications services provided by BroadSoft UC-One, according to the announcement.
“The consumerization of IT, shadow IT and the rise of millennials in the workforce have upended traditional business and communication models. Users are now in control but today’s point solutions are inadequate and lack integration – leading to scattered communications, ineffective meetings and fragmented workflows,” said Taher Behbehani, Chief Digital and Marketing Officer at BroadSoft. “BroadSoft’s Project Tempo envisions an integrated, contextual and mobile collaboration experience, so individuals and teams can work the way they want and focus on areas where they can make the greatest impact. The Intellinote acquisition helps us realize this vision.”
Intellinote is an important player in this space, enabling task management, file sharing, real-time messaging, video and audio and even screen sharing in their cloud platform. Used by thousands of organizations from Fortune 500 companies to SMB’s, Intellinote was recognized by the consulting firm Frost & Sullivan for the 2015 Product Leadership Award for the North American Market. Frost & Sullivan attributed their decision to Intellinote’s flexible platform, integrating popular business applications, while offering file access at any time from any device, and even their improvements to real-time communication.
According to the Announcement, Frost & Sullivan said that the unique “combined components allow this solution to stand out and makes Intellinote a notable company to watch.”
BroadSoft expects the acquisition to be dilutive by about $0.045 to its non-GAAP earnings, for 2016.
